Palazzo Corvaja – Taormina
I Colori dello Stupor – The Colours of Wonder, dedicated to the painters of the Grand Tour and inaugurated on 7 December 2024 and curated to celebrate the timeless beauty of Taormina through the eyes of the artists of the Grand Tour, the exhibition presents original works by masters such as Otto Geleng, famous for his views of Sicily, and other painters who have immortalized landscapes, lights and atmospheres that have made the city one of the most popular and most portrayed destinations in Europe. All works are on loan from private collectors in Taormina.

Taormina Castle – Madonna della Rocca, Taormina
The remains of this medieval castle surround a large area on the top of Monte Tauro, which watches over the town of Taormina. The imposing, surprisingly well-preserved walls give a vivid impression of the old castle. The views from up here are breathtaking, 360 degrees over the sea, as far as Mount Etna, the coastlines across to mainland Italy or in direction Catania, and the mountainous hinterland.

During the show the most famous arias and duets from the internationally renowned Italian opera repertoire will be performed. Italian Opera Taormina accompanies the public on a magical journey between Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini, making use of the best voices of the national and international scene, accompanied by equally virtuous pianists. The performance lasts about one and a half hours and takes place at the charming Nazarena Theater in Taormina. During the break of each show, a drink is offered on the panoramic terrace overlooking the bay of Taormina.

Beach in front of the Castle of Schisò – Giardini Naxos
The Founding of Naxos – commemoration of the first landing of the Greeks on Naxos Beach. An event in historical costumes organized by the “Parco Archeologico Naxos-Taormina”. Naxos was the first Greek colony founded in Sicily in 734 BC on the eastern side of the island. It was a maritime port and military centre. The city, an ally of Athens, contributed to the Syracuse campaign of 415-413 during the Peloponnesian War, and lost along with the city it supported. After the defeat, Naxos was razed to the ground by Dionysius of Syracuse, and this event marked the end of the ancient city. The exiles moved to nearby Taormina. Today the archaeological site of ancient Naxos covers an area of about 37 hectares on the Schisò peninsula. Admission free.

Taobuk 2025 – XV edition of the international book Festival, this year under the motto: Confine – Borders. A borderline, physical or mental, geographic or inner, real or imaginary that digs the furrow of contiguity. Separated and together joined by a point, two different worlds look at each other, touch each other. They meet, clash and merge into a common core. Within this space of exploration are the coordinates of the 15th edition of Taobuk, the international book festival created and directed by Antonella Ferrara.
The American novelist and short-story writer Peter Cameron, the American horror, mystery, adventure, crime author Joe R. Lansdale and the Italian novelist and film director Susanna Tamaro (Follow your Heart) are among the guests who will receive the Taobuk Award for Literary Excellence on Saturday, June 21 at the Teatro antico in Taormina during the gala evening at the Antique Theatre. Giovanni Allevi in concert. Four years after his last performance in Taormina, Giovanni Allevi will once again be a protagonist in Sicily, bringing with him not only his music but also a story of rebirth and personal resistance. The world-renowned composer and piano philosopher will perform with the Italian Symphony Orchestra, among others they will perform the world première of “Concerto MM22 per Violoncello e Orchestra”, written during his fight against multiple myeloma, a hymn to strength and rebirth. It is a diary in music that accompanied the long and painful hospital stay, aimed at affirming a dramatic and fleeting revenge on suffering, and the healing power of hope and affection. The concert comes along also with a repertoire ranging from the best-loved pieces to new compositions, the audience will enjoy an immersive experience, capable of touching the deepest chords of the soul. Una Notte da Oscar. An evening dedicated to famous film musics, performed by the Orchestra of the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, conducted by Maurizio Billi. On the same days, an extensive retrospective of the television series based on Andrea Camilleri’s literary works, “Il commissario Montalbano” and “Il giovane Montalbano”, will also be presented in various locations of Taormina. An event organized by the Taormina Arte Sicilia Foundation in memory of the author, who was born in Porto Empedocle (Sicily) on September 6, 1925 and died on July 17, 2019.
