Ex Chiesa del Carmine - Taormina
Cagli. Mito a Taormina Exhibition with paintings by Corrado Caglie. Cagli, born in 1910 in Ancona and grown up in Rome, as young artist founded the "New Roman School of Painting". Being of jewisch heritage in 1938 he fled from Italy, bacame a US citizen, fought with the US army and returned to Rome in 1948. He experimented in various abstract and non-figurative techniques (neo-metaphysical, neo-cubist, informal) and had a special relationship to Taormina.

Palazzo dei Congressi - Taormina
The Elvis Presley Museum traveling exhibition from Graceland on one of its european stop-overs at Taormina. More than 100 objects from the private property of Elvis Presley, among others guitars, dresses and his last Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. August 16 and August 20, 2 concerts are projected with Joe Bavota, one of the internationally most appreciated Elvis cover-men.

Salvator e Amelio the artist from Cento (Ferrara) born in Calabria with his project Omaggio all?Altare di Pergamo Homage to the Pergamon Altar (which is the main exhibit of the Pergamon Museum Berlin) The struggle of the Olympian gods and the Titans has inspired the painter and sculptor Salvatore Amelio, exponent of a surrealist style in succession of Salvador Dalí, to this series of works, which already has been shown in Berlin and in Ferrara in 2011.

Museo Arte Contemporanea Sicilia - via Crociferi, Catania
Ad Imaginem Suam Italian and Sicilian contemporary figurative art. An exhibition curated by Alberto Agazzani with artists from Italy and Sicily. The title is an allusion to the bible, book of genesis: Fecit Deus hominem ad immaginem suam (And God created humankind in His image) The exhibition is an interesting glance on how young contemporary artists interpret the image of the human body. The museum is located in the center of Catania inside a part of the beautiful baroque building of the Monastero San Benedetto. The artists are: Marco Bolognesi, Giuseppe Bombaci, Roberta Coni, Dino Cunsolo, Peter Demetz, Giuseppe Guindani, Nunzio Paci, Nicola Pucci, Davide Puma, Silvio Porzionato, Alessandro Reggioli, Luciano Vadalà. Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9 to 18.00 h. Closed on Thursdays.

IV Concorso di Canto Lirico Fondazione Marcello Giordani Opera singer's contest hosted by the Marcello Giordani Foundation. Marcello Giordani, born in Augusta, Sicily, is a reknown opera tenor with engagements in the best opera houses, such as the Metropolitan Opera N.Y., the Vienna State Opera and others. His foundation
is committed to the promotion of opera in general, and Italian Opera in particular, and to the creation of a new generation of dedicated performing artists. Giordani presides the jury, composed of artistic directors, casting managers, angency managers and opera critics, among others from the Teatro Real Madrid, the Bilbao Opera and the Teatro La Fenice Venezia. The contest's final is held in form of a concert on September 10 (21.00 h) in the Teatro Antico, with the Orchestra of the Festival Euro Mediterraneo.

Dario Fo in Lu Santu Jullare Francesco. The most famous living Italian actor-playwright, comedian, passionate performer, recipient of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature. Born in 1926 he still performs on stage with passion and charisma. His work on the life of Francis of Assisi stresses the aspects of a very strong, brave and ironical character.

Santuario di Tìndari - Patti (Me)
Festa della Madonna del Tìndari religious feast with a procession and masses in honour of the black Madonna of Tindari. Legend has it that may be at the end of the 8th or in the beginnung of the 9th century the wooden statue of the Madonna came by a ship from the orient which was forced to enter into the bay of Tindari and unload the ship before they could continue their trip. The Church on the highed point overlooking the sea was destroyed by algerian pirates in 1544. The present church from 1979 is not very inviting, but the statue did not loose it's magic. The location is much worth visiting also because of the greek theatre and extensive archelogical site of Tyndaris (founded in the year 396 b.c. as a colony of mercenaries from Siracuse.

Town centre - Bronte (Ct)
Sagra del Pistacchio di Bronte XXV edition of the culinary feast dedicated to the most famous local product of the town of Bronte, the pistachio, also called the "green gold" of Bronte, a DOP and Slow Food acknoledged product. A fair with product stands, tastings, processions in historic costumes, of folk bands and sicilian horse carts. The tradition says that the pistachios have to be harvested only every 2 years, and in Bronte this concernes the uneven years. But meanwhile there are cultivators that break with this old rule. The Sagra, in any case, is held every year.

Sagra del Pistacchio di Bronte XXV edition of the culinary feast dedicated to the most famous local product of the town of Bronte, the pistachio, also called the "green gold" of Bronte, a DOP and Slow Food acknoledged product. A Fair with product stands, tastings, processions in historic costumes, of folk bands and sicilian horse carts. The tradition says that the pistachios have to be harvested only every 2 years, and in Bronte this concernes the uneven years. But meanwhile there are cultivators that break with this old rule. The Sagra, in any case, is held every year.

Museo Arte Contemporanea Sicilia - via Crociferi, Catania
Ad Imaginem Suam Italian and Sicilian contemporary figurative art. An exhibition curated by Alberto Agazzani with artists from Italy and Sicily. The title is an allusion to the bible, book of genesis: Fecit Deus hominem ad immaginem suam (And God created humankind in His image) The exhibition is an interesting glance on how young contemporary artists interpret the image of the human body. The museum is located in the center of Catania inside a part of the beautiful baroque building of the Monastero San Benedetto. The artists are: Marco Bolognesi, Giuseppe Bombaci, Roberta Coni, Dino Cunsolo, Peter Demetz, Giuseppe Guindani, Nunzio Paci, Nicola Pucci, Davide Puma, Silvio Porzionato, Alessandro Reggioli, Luciano Vadalà. Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 9 to 18.00 h. Closed on Thursdays.
