Palazzo Corvaja – Taormina
Gian Paolo Barbieri – il regista della moda. Exhibition of a series of works by the reknowned italian fashion photographer, born 1938 in Milan. He was influenced by cinema and took part of the social scene in 1960s Rome, portayed by Federico Fellini’s film La Dolce Vita. Her worked for most importang fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue. He worked with notable models as Jerry Hall, Veruschka, Monica Bellucci, Audrey Hepburn and for the designers Armani, Versace, Ferrè, D&G, POmellato and Zanotti. Opening hours daily 10.30 to 13.30 h and 17.00  to 21.30 h.

MUSCÀ. Museum of Sicilian carts. The Museum of Sicilia Carts invites the visitors to dicover its exclusive collection of sicilian carts. Medea by Seneca (based on the homonymous tragedy by Euripides). Classical Theatre Performances at the archaeological site. Ifigenia in Aulis by Euripides. Classical Theatre Performances at the archaeological site. Agamemnon, the leader of the Greek coalition during the Troyan War, decides to sacrifice his daughter, Iphigenia, to appease the goddess Artemis and allow his troops to set sail in battle against Troy, this causes a conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles over the fate of the young woman. Exhibition of Sicilian Carts. The beautifully painted sicilian carts are a part of the historic Sicily. Their colorful design reminds to Indian carts. Very seldom you can see them still in use, mostly on the occasion of feasts in the countryside.

Teatro Antico and Palazzo Congressi - Taormina
TAORMINA FILM FEST 
the 61st edition of Sicily’s most glamorous event brings out the Hollywood glitz this year with a full schedule of new films and international guests.


Recent Oscar winner Patricia Arquette will share her knowledge during a special master class. Guests Richard Gere, Ellen Pompeo and Rupert Everett have also signed up to teach one of the festival’s signature classes. Susan SarandonJames Marsden and Dolph Lundgren will participate in onstage conversations.

Rosario Dawson will receive the Taormina Hunaitary Award for her Studio One Eighty Nine, along with Abrima  Erwiah. The final two episodes of Game of Thrones, season five, will have a special screening on June 15 in the Greek Theatre.


Competition films include Beyond the Reach, starring Michael Douglas and Jeremy Irvine, and Cop Car, starring Kevin Bacon. Hollywood films feature prominently throughout the festival lineup. Out of competition films include the comedy Hot Pursuit and The Diary of a Teenage Girl, starring Alexander Skarsgard and Kristen Wiig.


How to Make Love Like an Englishman, with Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba, will have a special screening. And Noah Baumbach’s latest, While We’re Young, starring Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amada Seyfried, will also play.


Italian director Gabriele Salvatores will teach a master class after a screening of his crowd-sourced film Italy in a Day. The film, cut together from 45,000 videos sent in from all over Italy, premiered in Venice last year.


Clint Eastwood’s classic The Bridges of Madison County will have a special 20-year anniversary screening and Warner Bros. exec Sue Kroll will be honored with the Taormina Arte Award. 600 Miles, Gabriel Ripstein's Mexico-set drug war thriller, starring Tim Roth, will close the festival.

Nastri D’Argento 2015Silver Ribbon Awards 2015 Gala. The reknowned and historic film award given by the SNGCI, the union of the Italian cinema journalists. In the various categories the shortlists are already published, among the most famous names designated are the directors and producers Matteo Garrone (Il racconto delle ranconte/Tale of Tales, Italy 2015), Nanni Moretti (Mia Madre/ My Mother, Italy 2015) and Paolo Sorrentino (La Giovinezza/Youth, Italy 2015). As “Film of the year” has already been elected Il Giovane Favoloso directed by Mario Martone, and also his protagonist actor Elio Germano. The event at the ancient theatre will be broadcasted by TV Rai1.

George Gershwin - Una Scala verso il Paradiso. Musics by George Gershwin, newly arranged by Cetina Donato, performed by Stefano Di Battista (sax), Seby Burgio (piano), Alberto Fidone (double bass), Giuseppe Tringali (percussion) and the Orchestra del Teatro Vittorio Emanuele, Messina. Norma, Opera by Vincenzo Bellini. The opera is regarded as a leading example of the bel canto genre and the aria “Casta diva” in act 1, is one of the most famous of the nineteenth century. Opera directed by Enrico Castiglione.

L’Ora del Rosario. The Sicilian comedian, singer and showman Rosario Fiorello with his new show. Reknown for his imitations of persons like Prince Albert of Monaco, Carla Bruni, Antonio Cassano and Vladimir Putin, his  most famous imitations include Mike Bongiorno, and that of Silvio Belusconi as a character called Smemorato di Cologno, who, in the parody, loses his memory every time something related to communism is mentioned.

Taormina Opera Stars Festival. NABUCCO Opera by Giuseppe Verdi. The Opera follows the plight of the Jews as they are assaulted, conquered, and subsequently exiled from their homeland by the Babylonian King Nabucco (Nebuchadnezzar II.) The historical events are used as background for a romantic and political plot. The best-known number from the opera is the "Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves,”Va pensiero, sull’ali dorate"/"Fly, thought, on golden wings," a chorus which is regularly given an encore in many opera houses when performed today. Artistic director of the festival: Enrico Stinchelli.

Taormina Opera Stars Festival. Aida, Opera by Giuseppe Verdi, conducted by Silvia Casarin Rizzolo. The opera was a commissioned work, primarily  written for the opening of the Royal Opera House in Kairo and first performed in December 1871. The plot tells the love story of  Ramadès, Captain of the Pharao’s gards, to Aida, an ethiopean princess, captured as a slave.  To complicate the story further, the Pharaoh's daughter Amneris is in love with Radamès, although he does not return her feelings.

Arena Palafantozzi - Piazza Bontempo (ME)
Fedez in concert. Federico Leonardo Lucia (born in Milan), known by his stage name Fedez, is an Italian rapper and singer. His first major studio album  was released in 2013, and it debuted at number one on the Italian Albums Chart. The album included the top ten hit "Cigno nero" and was later certified 3 X's platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry.

Ciatu. A new project of the Cultural Association Neon. Neon is a impressing theatre project foundet in 1989 by the author Piero Ristagno and the actress and director Monica Felloni. They had the dream to create a “theatre of diversity” based on the wish to work with actors, musicians and dancers wich live in conditions of  social, mental or physical handicap. Neon celebrated its 25th anniversary with the successful performance of the production Magnificat at the Teatro Antico in September 2014.
