International Literary Contest Tauromenion - Città di Taormina. A contest for all aficionados of the Italian language, initialized by the Babilonia Language School of Taormina in collaboration with the Taobuk Festival, Taormina Arte and the town of Taormina. The participants have to pass in a short story written in Italian until June 30, 2013. The jury will be composed of Alessandro Adorno (director of the Babilonia Language School), Antonella Ferrara (director of Taobuk), Ninni Panzera (Taormina Arte) and the Deputy Mayor of Cultural Affairs of the City of Taormina (the one in charge after the elections). Teatro Antico and Palazzo Congressi - Taormina
59th edition of the Taormina Film Fest directed by Mario Sosti. The Taormina Film Fest will be opened by the preview of the film Man of Steel by Zach SnyderRussell Crowe the "Gladiator" star, who plays Superman's father in Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel", will be present, joined by the director, Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Superman) and Amy Adams (Loris Lane) at the June 15 opening of the TaorminaFilmFest. Man of Steel will open across Italy five days later.
Other movie stars that will attend the festival are Meg Ryan who will hold a Tao Class and will obtain the Taormina Arte Award, and the famous Russian actress and director Renata Litvinova. As last year the Festival provides a section Focus on Russian cinema. The Humanitarian Taormina Award this year will be given to Prince Albert of Monaco on June 16.

Casa Cuseni - Via Leonardo da Vinci 5-7, Taormina
I ragazzi di von Gloeden (The boys of von Gloeden) - bookpresentation the book, written by Mario Bolognari, will be presentated by Francesco Faeta (University of Messina) and Vanni Ronsisvalle (the reknown writer and TV journalist). The book deals about the photographer and his homoerotic works, that made Taormina famous during the beginning 20th century. Von Gloeden was a friend and frequent guest of the artist Robert Kitson, owner of Casa Cuseni. After the presentation of the book Casa Cuseni, its museum and gardens can be visited, guided by director Francesco Spadarò.

Leonardo da Vinci machines An impressing collection of large-sized wooden models of Leonardo da Vinci's ingenious inventions, built by the Niccolai Family. Each of these "models" are fully operational and such give an impression of the mastermind of the Renaissance polymath: painter, sculptor, architect, scientist, inventor, writer.
