Dear guests, dear friends of Villa Schuler,

The SEASON 2008 has started at the Hotel Villa Schuler, Taormina, Sicily!

After the period of winter closing the Hotel Villa Schuler has been reopened on February 27, 2008 and we are happy to be at your service again, 24 hours a day until November 16 this year.

We and our historic villa are looking forward to welcoming you, thoroughly prepared to making your stay a pleasant one.

During the winter period lots of additional improvements have been carried out:

8 of our rooms have got NEW BATHROOMS, all with Jacuzzi showers or Jacuzzi bath-tubs.
This means that finally, after the refurbishings of the last 3 years, all bathrooms of our hotel are now renewed, with great care for details.

All hotel rooms now have REFRIDGERATORS. We decided to offer our guests an unstocked fridge solution avoiding mini-bottles, thus reducing our environmental impact, allowing you to fill the fridges with your personal purchases. Bottled beverages can be purchased for very reasonable rates at our lobby.

We have restored some of our antique FURNITURE and replaced the furniture in 3 dated rooms, always aiming to preserve the classic character of our hotel.

Our new INTERNET POINT will soon be available. We then will finally be able to offer you internet for free. This will be a complimentary service in addition to our Wi-Fi and laptop service (fee), which our clients can use anywhere on our premisses, including in the guest rooms.

The SUN ROOF on our 4th floor has been given a completely new look and structure. We will be able to reopen it shortly. You will then find an observation saloon with sliding wall to wall glass windows and an adjoing open terrace with sun beds and sitting areas, offering Taormina?s most astonishing panorama with a 360 degree round view, stretching from the bay of Naxos up to the southern Ionian coast-line and unobstructedly to the dramatic silhouette of Mt. Etna, from the greek-roman theatre to the botanic gardens, from the medieval castle on top of the the rock of Madonna della Rocca to the historic centre of Taormina. This makes our new sun-roof the ideal place in town to enjoy the most unforgattable Sicilian sunsets.

FINE ARTS AT VILLA SCHULER

Our gardener, Pippo Coslovi, who is also a skilful painter, has painted 7 new OIL PAINTINGS during last winter. His preferred themes are garden sights and Sicilian landscsapes. All our rooms to the garden side and also our Internetpoint have been beautified by these charming paintings.

Another work of art has been installed in our reception hall. It is a wonderful FLORENTINE STONE INLAY WORK made of marble and semi-precious stones, brilliantly carried out by Pippo Musumeci, an artist living in the nearby town of Castiglione. In the course of this summer we will inaugurate his lovely piece of art together with an exhibition of some others of his incredible works.

We are looking forward to a wonderful season 2008.
